Abba Home girls at University

Abba Home organised their first ever visit to a University before Christmas. The 30 girls were excited to be invited by the management of Lahore’s University of Management & Technology to see, feel and understand what it means to be a university student.

They took the University bus with mixed feelings, wondering and looking forward to see what university means in reality. Passing by Lahore’s factory areas and railway lines, they reached the University Campus to be greeted by the Associate Dean, Mrs. Naveda Kitchlew. From there they received a guided tour of the University classrooms and facilities. Dr. Uzma, Doctor in Sociology went through the details of admission to university. “You are really the blessed few at this tender age visiting and being updated as to how you too can come and study in the university.”

Helping us dream big dreams:

The girls were impressed. We received a warm welcome, and were encouraged by the nice behaviour of the management. They helped us to believe that we too can one day get admission if we work hard. Since no one from our families has ever been able to reach university level, so we need to prove our worth by hard work and high ambition.”
